Downtown Indiana is cooking up a storm with its eighth annual "Taste & Tour" on Thursday, July 16th, 2009 from 5:30-8:30 PM. Come sample food from some of the best restaurants of Indiana, including: B.P.O.E. #931 Elks, Café 701, Caffe Amadeus, Coney Island, Cozumel, H.B. Culpeppers, Murphy's II, Naps Cucina Mia, Romeo's Pizzeria and Mediterranean Kitchen, Spaghetti Benders, Steel City Samiches and new to the event Benjamin’s, Fox’s Pizza, Hog Father’s BBQ, Subway and The Coventry Inn.
“I am so proud and excited to be part of this fun, enjoyable night for folks to sample the many restaurants Downtown Indiana and its neighborhoods have to offer. It’s a great event, walking an eating your way through Downtown for a great cause,” shares Angie Holdren, committee chair of the Taste & Tour.
The tour begins on North Seventh Street, where wristbands will be distributed to ticket holders. Walk your way through downtown and have at least ten participating restaurants stamp or sign your ticket in order to be eligible for gift card drawings. The drawings will be held in the upstairs of HB Culpeppers – our most recent entertainment expansion. Tickets must be turned in by 8:30 PM in order to partake in the drawing.
The "Best Taste & Tour Experience Award" will be given to the restaurant voted on by those who ate their way through Downtown Indiana.
Funds raised from the event will be used to support Downtown Indiana’s Main Street and Elm Street Community Revitalization programs. Downtown Indiana Inc always promoting, developing and enhancing the downtown and its neighborhoods.
