‘Tis the season! And Downtown Indiana, the Indiana County Tourist Bureau and Indiana County Parks have planned seasonal events to help spread the holiday joy.
On Friday, Dec. 10, Downtown Indiana hosts its popular promotion “Lovin’ Downtown Every Second” at various downtown businesses.
Kids can visit with Santa and decorate cookies from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Atrium on Philadelphia Street, and create crafts at participating merchants, and dozens of downtown businesses will offer shopping and dining specials during the special holiday shopping hours.
The “Lovin’ Downtown Every Second” event is the second half of Downtown Indiana’s kickoff to the holiday shopping season. Last Friday, Nov. 19, Downtown Indiana hosted its annual “It’s a Wonderful Life” Festival, holiday parade, and tree-lighting event at the Indiana County Courthouse.
The event featured free viewings of the film and the making of the film “It’s a Wonderful Life” at the Jimmy Stewart Museum, as well as activities for kids, hayrides, music, kettle corn, marshmallow roasting and hot chocolate on North 7th Street.
You and your family are warmly welcome to attend the Dec. 10 “Lovin’ Downtown Every Second” event to visit with Santa, participate in children’s craft making, and take advantage of the holiday specials from local merchants.
And if you’re looking for some seasonal fun with the family this holiday weekend, check out the Trolley Rides to the Festival of Lights at Blue Spruce Park, presented by seasonal sponsor First Commonwealth Bank and nightly sponsors the Indiana Gazette, S&T Bank, 1st Summit Bank and Walbeck Insurance.
